Dear Emily,
You are now 4 months old! You are growing and changing every single day. We just went to your 4 month check up and you are now 11 lbs, 3 oz and 24" long! You are average for your length and are only in the 10% for your weight...just a petite girl like your mommy. =) People will see you in the store and say, "is that a doll?!" You are just so cute and small. =)
Your holding your head up really well now and are doing great with tummy time. You do little push ups while on your tummy. Dr. Jo says this is very important to building your little back muscles - getting ready to roll over and sit up!
You have really found your hands this month. They are constantly in your mouth! You have also mastered putting toys in your mouth pretty good.
Your favorite toys are your book, sprout doll, and glow worm. You seem to like doll faces - it's so cute. You also like your floor gym. We tried the excersaucer, but I think you are a little small for it. We had to stuff blankets around you and put a pillow under your feet. =) We'll try it again soon.
You had your 1st (and probably only) BIG snow! It's actually snowed a good bit since you've been born, but don't be confused. It NEVER snows like this here in Mississippi.
You had your 1st Valentine's Day this month, which was a lot of fun. You got tons of gifts from everyone - you are very loved. =)
We also took you to church for the 1st time. I decked you out from head to two - it was so fun. You slept in my arms the whole service - I loved it!
You haven't figured out Abby Grace just yet. She tries to figure you out sometimes, but you haven't really noticed her yet. I can't wait until ya'll start playing together - it'll be so fun to watch!
You are in size 0-3 months clothes, but are moving on up to the 3-6 months now. I just LOVE dressing you up! I can't wait to get some new stuff for you to wear. Although a lot of stuff is handed down from Abby Grace and also your friend, Hadley. =)
Another 1st this month is eating with a spoon. We started this right before your 4 month bday. We are feeding you cereal each night to try to get you use to eating actual food. Hopefully, you'll get the hang of it soon. As of now, more ends up on your face and burp cloth than in your mouth!
You are also interacting more with other people now. You smile and "talk" to everyone you meet.
Mommy just LOVES taking pictures of you. We have photoshoots about once every 2 weeks or so. I still have not managed to get a good one of your smiling (with the good camera) - other than the one at Christmas! You get a silly face every time the camera comes at you...like, what is that big, black, metal thing?
The biggest happening this month has been me starting to work only part time. I'm only working two days a week now, so I can spend more time with you! Your Granny is keeping you while mommy is at work. I'm so excited to be able to do this. I love spending time with you! I look forward to the coming months - watching your grow and change. I wonder what exciting things you'll do this month?! Only time will tell!
